Customer Experience 

A company was planning to replace outdated and ineffective servers so management has been considering the procurement of new servers, but the calculated investments were too high. Therefore other options to renew IT infrastructure were considered as well.
 

For example, outsource of IT resources. This option, even though providing the company with an opportunity to divide financial flows, was not acceptable because of other aspects, like, long-term equipment rental contract (2-3 years), inflexible contract terms, no possibility to rent software licenses, limited possibilities of dynamically changing the scope of IT resources during the contract period.
 

The company was suggested to use dynamic IT services. The concept of such services is quite similar to electricity supply model where the payment for services is monthly, depending on the amount of electricity consumed. Likewise, dynamic IT services enable to use only such IT capacities that are needed at given time and to pay accordingly. No long-term contracts! The price includes licenses’ prices as well so in case of the change in number of company’s employees, the number of licenses can be changed from next month on.

Adopting dynamic IT services three servers have been replaced by virtual machines in the high availability data center. Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft licenses were also proposed as a service. The company has as well delegated the management of 23 digital workplaces and the support of the abovementioned servers to the service provider.
 

Adoption of these services has enabled the company to avoid procuring whole new IT infrastructure, to save on electricity expences, purchase of licenses and IT support. Monthly fee for the abovementioned services is approximately 3500 Litas.
 

Customer was also proposed to replace part of outdated digital workplaces to virtual desktops. In the initial phase it was decided to virtualize 5 desktops ant migrate remaining ones in the period of one to two years after the expiry date of the warranty. The virtual desktop service also enables customer to procure necessary number of desktops at given time and instantly change the number when needed.  The monthly fee for 5 virtual desktops with Microsoft Office license, terminals and maintenance services is 1030 Litas.

Bridge2cloud services are provided via internet. Service provisioning hardware and software is located in our modern data center compliant with all the security and business continuity requirements. Procuring whole IT as a service customer is not required to own any IT infrastructure – neither hardware nor software or even PCs. Provision of services is based on virtual infrastructure.
